The November annual meeting of Rice Point W. I. was held at the home of the president. Mrs. John B. MacDonald with an at- tendance of seven members.

The meeting opened by repeat- ing the "Collect for Club Women" in unison.

Roll call was answered by pay- ment of dues and cards of sym- iuthy. etc. Minutes of last meet- ing and annual meeting were read, Illbroved and signed.

Report of sick committee was given. Letters of thanks were read and business correspondence was read and discussed by meeting.

It was decided not to hold December tin; and the secre- tary was asked to give the usual amount for the school children's treat at Christmas; also sick to be remembered with gifts and cards.

The members were asked to don- lie to Red Cross drive for Euro- Dean children. for clothing.

It was decided to give the letter '9 Purchase of Cod Liver Oil Cap- sules to the teacher to ask par- ents if they wished to have them for children this year.

Let- ters of appreciation were read by some of the members for quilts that were sent to the Manitoba Re- lief. Several letters were read and discussed. It was decided by mem- bers to buy a Health Bond.

Retiring secretary-treasurer gave annual report. Receipts for the year amen, Expenses Q309.63 bal- ance on hand 534.17.

Mrs. Harland Hill reported the sum of sl-15.00 made at the chick- en supper proceeds in aid of school.

Mrs. Elmer MacDonald invited members to her home for next meeting which will be held on Tues- day night. Jan. 2nd. Roll call to be answered with a New Years Poem. Collection amounted 31.45. The annual meeting of the Al- berry Plains W. I. was held at the school with five members present.

The meeting opened by the vice- president with the Institute Ode followed by the Club Women's Creed.

Roll call was answered by five members paying dues for the com- ing year.

The minutes of the last regular and the last annual meetings were read and approved.

There was no presid,ents' report. The secretary gave the financial report for the year showing a bal- ance on hand of sl36.2-i.

Each member agreed to make up 4 lbs. sugar into fudge for Christmas concert and treat; al- so to donate one pound grapes each; apples to be bought for same. Christmas candy to be packed at the home of Mrs. Mil- ton Wood, the night previous to concert.

Several other small items of interest were disposed of at this time. Next meeting to be held at the home of Mrs. Harold Benton, with the lunch committee being Mrs. Wallace Brehaut, Mirs. Nat- Mcxinnon, and Mrs. Ernest Mao- Cabe. Collection 01.05.

At this time Christmas gifts were exchanged by the member., adding a nice cheery touch to the end of the meeting. Lunch was served by the hostess and com- mittee in charge. Meeting closed with "The King".

DARNIEY W. I.

The regular monthly meeting of the Damley W. I. met at the home of Mrs. Wallace Adams. Meeting opened with the president in the chair and by singing "silent Night”. followed by repeating creed Jn unison. ,

Roll call was answered by eigh- teen members and eight visitors with a Christmas verse.

IMinutes of last meeting were read and approved also financial re- port was read.

Secretary reported that a neat sum of 572.28 was made at the chicken supper. It was moved that the Institute donate 35.00 to T. B. League.

School committee then reported no urgent needs for school.

Sick committee reported one treat. Sick committee was to take care of shut-ins on their road. It was de- cided that treat school children as other years.

Programme consisted of a paper. on Christmas Customs in other Lands read by Mrs. Wallace Adams. a cockie contest put on by Mrs Dcnnld. An exchange of Christmas Adams was won by Mrs. Colin gifts among the members followed

Several indies donated monev re- ceivcd from card parties held at their homes during the month. Cul- lcction taken amounted to 81.09.

Campbell, presided and called the meeting to order by having the

members sing the Institute ode and repeating the ”Collect for Club Women" together. The secre- tary, Mrs. Lawrence Stuart. read the minutes of last month's meet- ing, which were approved and adopted as read. Among the cor- reepondence received during the month was a letter from the Rod Cross. thanking the blood donors of the district who were present at the clinic held in Montague re- oently.

It was agreed that a donation be sent to the T. B. League at this time. The delegate chosen to represent the district at the next meeting of the Kings County Hos- pital Auxiliary was Mrs. Mack Munro. The secretary reported that a roaster had been ,urchnsed fair the school. An amount was voted to provide the children of the dis- trict with a treat at I" time. Boxes are also to be packed for the Infirmary.

The sick committee reported two calls made during the month. New committees appointed were as follows:- Sick, Mrs. Pete Mc- Carron and Mrs. Wesley Camp- bell. Entertainment - Mrs. Gar- net Moore and Mrs. Webb Nichol- son.

Mrs. J. N. MacDonald invited the members to hold their Janu- ary meeting at her home. The roll call will be an exchange of Christ- mas gifts.

One of the highlights of the evening was a presentation of a salad bowl ensemble to the hos- tess, Mrs. Colin MacDonald, by the members, in recognition of her hospitality, and the many times her house has been at the disposal of the whim Road Institute mem- bers for their meetings. Mrs. Mac; Donald was deeply touched by this unexpected gesture and thanked the members in suitable words.

After the entertainment com- mittee had put on several interest- ins Contests. a penny sale was held by Mrs. Bob Campbell, in the absence of Mrs. Cecil Campbell. and the lucky ticket was held by Mrs. Mack Munroe.

During the social hour that fol- lowed the meeting, a delicious lunch was served by the hostess, assisted by several of the mem- bers. The meeting closed with the National Anthem.

Union Road Y.P.U. met recently at the home of Norma Yeo. The meeting opened with a worship service led by Everett Gray. The service opened with the hymn. "Silent Night." followed by serio- ture reading taken from St. Matthew. 2 Chapter read by Everett Gray. The hymn "While Shepherds Watch their flocks by Nmit", followed by a prayer. This brought the worship service to a close.

Organist was Mrs. Keith Ery- enton. The minutes of the last meeting were read and adopted. Roll call was answered by nine members and four visitors. Col- lection taken and amounted to 31.05.

It was moved and seconded to have the Young People's meeting on Wednesday night. A letter was read asking to send the election of officers and fees for the next year.
