I believeit is the best preparation known to increase egg prodaction. I saved part of the eggs for hatching after foicing the hens four months for all they were worth with Sheridan’s Con- dition Powder, and I never had a greater per cent, of fertile eggs or more vigorous chickens, In brief, 1 do not believe I can afford to be without the powder to give health and vigor to young hens.” Six cans of Sheridan’s pow- der will pay a good dividend in eggs if you commence early. Chapter of Accidents.

The present year furnishes a chapter of calamities in the history of the world that, as the New York§/ndependent says, is un- precedented. Every scourge bat that of famine seems to have done its deadliest. The floods at Johnstown and in Japan, the fires at Seattle and Spokane Falls, the explosion in Ancwerp, the cholera in Mes- opetamia, the storms at sea, and the land-slidc at Quebec, comprise a horrible list. Thousands of the lives lost have been sacrified to carelessness or negligeuce.
