These are questions to be consid- ered by the people, and particularly by the Liberals of Canada. All true Conservatives stand for the main- tenance Q! the Canadian Constitu- tion and for British connection. Bu! many Liberals have allowed the idea of Independence to creep into their minds and some have given expres- sion to it. Evidently Premier Tas- chereau-Leader of the Liberals of Quebec—felt that it was needful for him to "speak out inmeetlng." No doubt the idea was broached at the Convention of (Provincial Premiers held last year. Premier Taschereau sees. as every one who takes the trouble to think about it sees. that
