There are meetings open to anyone Mondays at 4:30 in room 213 in the W.A.Murphy Student Centre. The dead- line for submissions is Thursday at mid- night. The opinions expressed within The Cadre do not necessarily represent the views of UPEI or the UPEI Student Union Inc.

Editorial 19: So long...

So there you have it. The last regular issue of The Cadre for this academic year. This is also the last issue that my name will appear under the heading "Editor-in- Chief." Personally, this year has been incredible. My experience here at The Cadre has been won- derful: I missed most deadlines, failed some classes, and lost 25 pounds. I learned a ton (which of course I wasn't graded on). I was yelled at, punched at, kicked at, spit at, and laughed at. Or perhaps, laughed with. That's what I'll tell myself.

I'd like to thank all of those who took the time to read the paper, write for the paper, or just drop in on one of our weekly meet- ings.

I'd specifically like to thank Thomas Lloyd and Catherine Sweet — both of whom I hope to work with again down the road some- time. We yelled at each other a lot. We threw things at each other a lot. And we ate more food from George's Grill than I would have thought humanly possible. All in all, we made a great team, and had a lot of fun.

This year, The Cadre was well received by the majority of UPEI students. Our weekly meet- ings were heavily attended — Some came hoping to have the experience of seeing their name in print — Others wanted to meet new. people and become more involved in cam- pus life— Some came simply for the free pizza.

Student participation in our reader poll was phenomenal, and letters to the editor were well-writ- ten and frequently submitted.

High-points of the year included our relocation into a new office space, the addition of some fantastic-computer equipment to our otherwise stale lineup of 486's, positive recognition from President MacLauchlan and Dean of Arts Richard Kurial, and an interview with Canada's Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Of course, there are those students who didn't approve of this year's edition of The Cadre. But I have a feeling that they're not read-

ing this editorial right now, so I won't worry too about it.

To those of you who are reading this, I hope you've enjoyed The Cadre. With any luck we've kept you informed of campus events, offered you something think about, and — most importantly — entertained you. To you, I'll simply say "So long..."
