THEATRE PEI’S 1995-96 SEASON OPENS TH THE GLASS MENAGERIE

Theatre PEI is pleased to announce its new l-winter subscription season. The opening duction of this Three-Play Package, The Glass nagerie by Tennessee Williams, will be presented dnesday through Sunday, October 4-8, 19895, at Carrefour Theatre, off Riverside Drive, arlottetown. Rob MacLean, Theatre PEI’s new ociate artistic director, will direct this production. rtain time is 8 pm for the evening performances,

2 pm for the Sunday matinee.

The Glass Menagerie, a Tennessee Williams ssic set in the Depression years, burns with the w fires of desperation. This is the story of the ingfields: Laura, more crippled in spirit than dy; Amanda, who clings to faded fantasies of uthern nobility; and Tom, who must choose tween his family and his freedom.

The strong cast features Carol Sinclair, clissa Mullen, Rob MacDonald and Crair Blair. T0l Sinclair, acclaimed actress and playwright, Ww makes her home in Halifax. She and Ms. © ullen were featured in last season’s Neptune catre production of Dancing in Laghnasa. Rob 2cDonald is well known to Island audiences, Ving just completed his fifth season with nekenstein. Craig Blair was lauded this past mmer for his performance in the provocative inking in America at the Arts Guild.

The next two productions in the season are € Island Remembers (November 10-12, 19095)’ turing The Venerables, Wade Lynch and a strong Pporting cast, and La Saguine (in English) turing veteran actress Viola Leger (January 31 - bruary 4, 1996). All productions will take place Le Carrefour Theatre.
