Dave Reid and Tony Haliduick, goaltenders for the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers, have tied this week for Male Athlete of the Week honors, said a release from Sports officer Paul Ledwell Tuesday.

Reid, in his fifth year at UPEI, played goal in the Panthers’ 5-2 victory over the Mount Allison Mounties, and Haliduick took the net in UPEI’s defeat of the Universite de Moncton Blue Eagles Sunz‘vw at the Forum.

Both Reﬁt. and Haliduick have shared the goaltending duties equally this year, and have the best goals against average in the league.

Last weekend each earned Player of the Game honors

Haliduick played junior hockey in his hometown of Montreal, Quebec.

Reid played with the Sherwood-Parkdale Metros of the Island Junior Hockey League and is from Hope River, P.E.I.

Linda Dykerman, middle blocker with the UPEI women’s volleyball team, is I.‘ PEI’s Female Athlete of the Week.

Dykerman played very well la t weekend as the Panthers tamed a split with St. FX at r. vme.

Dykerman is a graduate of Bluefield High School and-is in her second year at UPEI.

She had 24 kills to lead UPEI and sparked the volley— ball squad’s‘blocking.
