Siz,-—If we have a law im thie city to pretest animals from cruelty I fear it isa dead letter. Caees of gress cruelty occur daily om our streets and équares and ne notice is taken of them. I do not believe it is possible for us te escape some very uppleasant gonsequences to ourselves if we fail to protect animals from abuse and wrong.

On Wednesday, going along Prinee Street, I saw a horse tied to a telephone post shivering with cold, being im an ex- posed piace, with no Llanket.
