Dinner—A_ Brilliant Affair.

We shal] notattempt to enumerate the many delicious viands which made up the menu at the dinner given given Inst even- ing in honor of Scotland’s Patron Saint. Enough to say that the acting hostess— Miss M. Logan—gave “a le proof of her ability in that regard. The tables were beautifully epread,—asprig of heather at the eide of each plate—and _ the grand dining hall of Hotel Davies, with its artistieally frescoed walls and tasteful decorations presented a brilliant effect in the bright electric light. The tables were well served, and everything to please the palate and nourish the inner mao was eatisfactory.

With regard to the flow of soul which followed, it, too, was upon the whole above the standard of such cccasions. First-class racy epeeches were delivered by Rev. T. F. Fuller. ton aod Rey.
