Cuicaco, Nov. 8—Aftera fight with revolvers, in which forty shots were ex- changed, sixdetectives from the central station yesterday succeeded in capturing a gang of six robbers at 63rd street and Mad- ison avenue. A esearch of the thieves headquarters revealed $16,000 worth of jewelery, clothing and honsebhold furnish- ings. The police say thegang was respon- sible for most of the hold-ups and big store and residence rcbberies within the last year. The leader of the gang is George Webster, who in September, 1889, killed a saloon keeper at Frankfort, Ky. He killed a man in the Standard theatre, St. Louis, on April 7, 1896. He has served thirteen years in various penitentiaries. All the others have criminal records.
