WEDDING BELLS.

Friday evening, July 27th, will be long remembered by the young people of West River as one of ite most enjoyable events of the season, it being the occasion of a wedding festival held at the residence of Mrs. D McLaughlan. The contracting parties were Miss Millicent McRae,of Rice Peint, and Ewen McLaugblan, of Fair- view. The bride was very prettily attired and was attended by Miss M McLaughlan, while the groom was supported by Mr J McRae. Fifty invited guests repaired to the dining room which was artistically decorated with ferns and flowers, and partook of a sumptuous repast prepared by Mrs D McLangblan ia her best style, and where music arose with its yoluputons swell soft eyes looked love to eyes which spoke agsin and all went merry as a wedding bell. The wedding gifts were elegant and costly. Amongst the rarest was a musical clock and a beautiful parlor lamp,presented by some gentlemen friends of “the groom. We wish M.r and Mrs. McLaughian a happy and prospereus journey through life.

Murray MacNeill, of Denver, Struck Twice .by Lightning.

Mr Murray McNeil!, an Islimder living

in Denver Col-, and in the employ of the Colorado Telephone Company narrowly missed death by electricity re- cently. He had been stringing wires for the company On some ef the mountain ines, and while clinging toa poll was -everely burned in the side by # current of lightning, which etruck the wires some distance away and ricochetted teward him, fioally landing in bis side and going tuence to the groucd. MacNeill intuitive- y avoided the current aad therefore re- eived only a portion of il. Some time fier be was again stringing wires when anotmer curreot eame «cunning slong the wires and knocked bim senseless, causing vim to fall from the pole, thirty feet, and to break three ribs on the right side of hie body. He was discovered an hour later snd removed to a neighboring rarch- When in Denver, MacNeil! lives with his sister, Mrs George McSwaia, at Moncrieff place and Homer Boulevard-

Mr McNeill has recovered from his se- vere treatment, and ie again living in Denver. He is the youngest son of the late Laughlea MacNeill, ot Tryon.
