The Annual Meeting of the Stew- art Memo 1...: Health Centre was held in Tyne Valley Hall on Mon- day evening, June 18th. The Pres- ident Mi-. R.H. Found presided. The report of the activities in the Health Centre was given by Mr. Found.

During the nine months period from March 31st to Dec. 31st there were 67 newborns (an increase of seventeen over 1955i, 395 pat- ients received care (an increase of ninety-eight over 1955!, 128 out- patients were treated (an increase of thirty-nine over 1955).

The 28th annual convention of South Prince Women's lnsitute was held in Central Bedeque Hall on June 12th. The presiding offi- cer was Mrs. Hubert MacNeil1, Birch Grove and the secretary. Miss Aletha Noonan Bedeque. The hall was attractively decor- ated with potted plants, seasonal flowers and it nice display of hand- icraft the work of the different Institutes. The afternoon session opened at 2.30 p.m. by the sing- ing of the Institute Ode followed by the Mary Stuart Collect in uni- son.

The address of welcome was given by Mrs. Cecil Reeves of Birch Grove, the entertaining In- stitute and very fittingly replied to by Mrs. Chas. MacFarlane. Fernwood. The minutes of the last annual convention were read and approved.

A very interesting reading was Austin Rogers, Birch Grove. and encored.

He said that if we in Prince Edward Island will raise the -standing of teaching qualifications pay more adequate salaries and reorganize the admin- istration of rural schools. then our Province could compare favor- ably with any in Canada. so far as education is concerned. a short discussion followed by those pres- en.
