A CABLEGRAM states that thirty head of cattle exported by Mr. Cruitt, of Toronto; were sold atthe Liverpool Christmas sale on the 15.h inst. They realized an average of upwards of £30 per head and were admitted to be the finest on the market, even surpassing the British cattle oftered.

Rev. T. B. Furier, Bishop of Niagara, died in Hamilton, Out., on Taesday morning last. Several days ago he was working in his liberary when he ran a three cornered file into his hand. Corkection.—In our tssue of the 17th inst. we copied from the Summerside Pioneer paragraph headed ‘Islanders Abroad,” which we find is altogether erroneous. The McLeod mentioned is Duncan M. McLeod, formerly in the ewploy of Geo. Davies & Co., and well and favorably known in this city. He isnot a brother of the Station Agent at Bradalbane, nor is he a native of Strathalbyn, but is a brother of Capt. George A. McLeod of Park Corner, and isa native of that place. We believe he is now a member of the tirm of Moody, McLeod & Co, Delles, Oregon, and is one of the wany successful Park Coraer bows abroad.

A pespatcu from St. Hyacinthe, Quebec, says the first span of the new bridge being erected across the Yamaska river was blown down on Monday. A man named Allard was killed, and another named St. Germain and one whose name is unknown are dying. Fif- teen other persons were seriously, although not fatally injured.

Tue Halifax Herald publishes an interview with a financial mano just from England, which says there is not a ghost of a chance of floating the Nictaux and Atlantic Railway bonds, aud that the attempt to do so, or to float any other doubtful scheme, will in- juriously affect the province. The Camber- land Railway and Coal loan was not offered, but there is good prospect of its being suc- cessful.

Mre. Mc3waty, with her little family, left this morning to join Dr, McSwain in Victoria, British Columbie. Her numerous friends in Charlottetown and Belfast wish her a safe and pleasant trip acress the continent. The weather is not very propitious at the outset, but as a stormy morning is often followed by a fine day, we may hope that it will moderate before long, and that the trip will end in a happy calm.
