Face New Aces

Well another day and andther hockey game to be played and the one at the Charlottetown Forum this evening is bound to attract more’than an average interest. The Pope Motor Aces whom everybody believed had the deck stacked against them invade town again tonight for the fifth game of the P.E.I, Intermediate A series against Sandy’s Royals but this time ~~ are going to have to be given the respect that they are

Anyone who saw the Aces take it on the chin 16-4 the Other eyening and then was at the game Monday evening had to look twice. to realize that this was the same team. They hustled, all evening, outsh the Royals in every period °(17-5 in the first alone) and they lost it would have been almost the biggest robbery since the 12 bars of gold were stolen in Winnipeg.

- Granted the Royals were missing the services of Dave Lawlor but Dave MacLeod of the Aces, one of their biggest guns did not manage to get to the game either.

The game in the early stages was sloppy beyond words and the Royals took advantage of this y to pump in two quick goals. However after that-the game opened up and the Aces proceeded to take the measure of the locals. They came back from a 2-0 deficit and then from 4.2 to win the game and they did the inevitable in the final minute of play,

The power play was a big factor in the contest. Ace's coach Layton Schurman was assessed with a bench pen- alty with just over a minute in the game having been play- ed and the Royals took advantage of this to go ahead 1-0. How ever it ‘was the Aces who derived the most profit out of the-man—advantage for they scored their winner on the power ‘play and also two or three more markers in an ident-
