dated at Balmoral, the Thirteenth day of September, 1859.

I have, therefore, thought lit. by and with the advice of Her Majesty’s Cxecutive Council of this Island, to issue this Proclama- tion, hereby requiring and Commanding all Ollicers, Civil and Military, in this Government, to continue in the regular and due execution of the Duties and Powers of their respective ()flices.

And I do further require and command all and singular Her Majesty's Olliccrs, Ministers, and loving subjects of this Island, and all others whom it may concern, to take due notice hereof, and to give their ready obedience accordingly.

Given under my hand and the Great Seal of this Island, at Charlottetown, in the said Island, this Twenty-first day of July, in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and sixty-five, and in the Twenty-ninth year of Her Majesty’s reign.

PI OTICE is hereby given to all Importers, that no Permit will be granted in this Office for the landing of any Goods or rticles, arriving at the Port of Charlottetown, and liable to Im port duty, until said duty be paid or secured according to Law. Any Goods arriving without an invoice to the Consignee, the duty will be exacted in accordance with the 49th section of the 19th Victoria, Cap. I, or otherwise deposited in the Bonded Warehouse until the original invoice can be produced, at the option of the

FLASHING LIGHT DN MERGER HEAD, BRUNET ISLAND.

V THE Board of Works at St. John’s, Newfoundland,has given Notice, that on and after the 27th day of June, 1865, a light will be exhibited from a light-house recently erected on Mercer head, the south-east extreme of Brunet Island, Fortune Bay. ~ The light will be a flashing white light, showing a flash every ten seconds, and visible in all directions except when bearing between E.S.E. and South, when it will be obscured by the inter vening high land. It is placed at an elevation of 400‘ feet above the mean level of the sea, and in clear weather should be seen from a. distance of about 25 miles.

Mercer head is a bold head land in lat. 47Q 15’ 30” N., long. 50° 51’ 50” West of Greenwich. [ All Bearings are Magnetic. Variation 29° 45’ West in 1865. ] By Command of their Lordships, CEO. HENRY RICHARDS, Ilydrographer. IIydrographic Oflice, Admiralty, London, 22d June, 1865.

BELL AND BEADDN BDAT DN DAUNTS RDDK.

THE Corporation of the Port of Dublin has given Notice, that a Bell and Beacon boat has been placed to mark the position of Daunts rock, ofl' Roberts head, near Cork Harbour.

The Beacon boat is colored black, with the words Daunts Rock in white letters on the superstructure, which is surmounted by a ball 24 feet above the sea, and lies in 12 fathoms at low water springs, at nearly L} cables S.S.W. of the rock, with the Telegraph tower on Roche point in line with the peak of a distant mountain bear"- ing N.E. 3E-; and the gable end of a white house in Roberts cove just open of the north-east side of entrance to the cove N. .1 E.

The Beacon boat rides by 80 fathoms of chain and will therefore occasionally swing near the rock.

The buoy which has hitherto marked Daunts Rock remains in the same position as before. [ All bearings are Magnetic. Variation 25° 10’ West in 1865. ]
