Laip To Rest.—The body of the late Michael McQuaid was interred in the Roman Catholic Cemetery yesterday afternoon. Al- though the weather was wet and disagreeable, the funeral was very largely attended. Mr McQuaid was « good citizen, and his death is much regretted by all who kaoew him.

John Goff, of Woodville, and Arthur W. Jenks, metailurgist The officiating clergyman was the Rev. Canoe Miles. The bride was given away by her brother, Mr. L. W. Goff, of Charlottetown. Darixc Ronaexy.—A daring robbery took place late on Thursday night at the Inter- colonial Railway station at Fraserville, Que. An employe was counting money, preparatory to sending it off, when a s*ranger walked in and picked up a roll of bills amounting te $100. One of the officials ran to stop him, but the stranger knocked him down and made off with the money. A horse belonging to a resident has disappeared also. It is supposed the robber took it to facilitate his escape,

People who had been in the habit of smokiag the finest Virginia tobacco, could not for time be made to believe that they were offered the same article at about one half the old price, and it was only by slow degree that they were induced to put the question to the test of an actual trial. When they did adopt that test, however, it never failed to sstisfy them.

Macistratr’s Court. — Before H. V. Palmer, J. P. Rev. J. Simpson vs. Solomon Wadmen, for malicious destruction of property in St. Peter's Cemetery. The evidence showed that deferdint went to St. Peter's Cemetery on Oct, 19th with a shell, and finding the gate locked forcibly broke it open. Plaintiff stated that he had been put toa good deal of trouble and expense at various times by workmen and others break ing the lock on the gate of this cemetery; and us in this case the defendant had retused to replace the lock he felt it hie duty to prosecute. The defendant was fined $3 and costs.

Cuitp Kittep.—The first accident on the street railway at Yarmouth, N.8., occurred on Thursday. A little baby, daughter of Lea. man Trefry, was struck by an electric car and its skull was fractured, so that it died withia half an hour. An inquest washeld. The evidence showed that the accident was due to no carelessness ou the part of the diiver, and a verdict in accordance with the facta was given exonerating the driver The child was eighteen months old and had strayed from the backyard on to the street wi hout the know ledge of its mother.

Jesurr Muisstox.—Rev. Fathers O’Bi yan and Doherty arrived here from Montreal on Saturday evening to conduet # mission in St Dunatan'’s Cathedral. The missien will be continued for two weeks, the first week bei g exclusively for the women and the second fer the we. ‘The introductory sermon ws preached yesterday forencon, and the wome & mi-sion began at seven o'clock last evening. During the mission there will be services daily as follows: Masa at 53)4 m, followed by a short instruction; Mass at 7 30 a m, wi h out the instruction; Mass at 9 am, wi'b instruc tion; at 3 pm, way of the cross and instruc+ tion; at 7 p m, beads, sermon and benediction The hearing of confessions will not begin until to morrow afternoon. The women's mission will close on Sunday afternoon next with the Papal Benediction, and the men’s mission will begin at 7 o'clock the same evening.
