NEW YORK (CP) -— V. M. Knight, Nova Scotia’s deputy minister of trade and industry, said Tuesday more than 8100, 000,000 is being invested in his province's industrial and com mercial expansion program by private interests.

Knight told a luncheon meet- ing of the U.S. Commerce and

Industry Association the flow of new investments “should once and for all dispel the myth Nova Scotia is solely the land of the lobster and the idyllic fishing village."

Knight reported manufactur- ing tops fishing at least eight- told and Nova Scotia factory shipments now are running at the rate of $42,000,000 a month. 12 per cent more than the 1963 rate.

As for new construction, he said the province is outstripping the rest of Canada on a per capita basis.
