The Victoria British Colonist calls for an investigation into the condition of some tribes of Indians that live on the west coast of Vancouver's Island, about 100 miles from the capital. One of these Indians was re- cently convicted of manslaughter, and sen- tenced to five years’ imprisonment. The crime was conunitted under rather peculiar circumstances.
