MILITARY TATTOO

Presented by searchlight on the Esplanade of Edinburgh Castle, the Tattoo will feature pipers and drummers of famous Scottish Regiments, Massed Military Bands and Highland Dancing. There will also be displays by the R.A.M.C. and Fire Brigade, Breton pipers from the naval air base near Brest and the pipers and drummers of the lst Battalion Queen Elizabeth’s Own Gurkha Rifles. More than 700 servicemen on parade in the finale. with Edinburgh Castle as a floodlit “ backcloth."

The Capital of Scotland, the city of Edinburgh, is the greatest star of its own Festival. The magnificence of Princes Street with the historic Castle high on its rock towering over the scene, remains in the memory for many years.

FESTIVAL CLIIB

During the Festival the Assembly Rooms and Music Hall are transformed into a Festival Club with licensed restaurant, snack-bar, lounges. The building itself is worth seeing for it was here that Sir Walter Scott first admitted authorship of the Waverley Novels.

Three-weekly, weekly and daily membership is available to all visitors.
