A Terrible Tragedy at Sea.
THE CAPTAIN OF A WINDSOR, N. KILLED—AND THREE MEN SHOT.

The British bark Wellington was towed into Plymouth, Eng., on the 30th ult., with her crew in a state of mutiny. She left Havre,Jan, 21st for New York, under command of Capt. Armstrong. When the vessel was brought there the vame was painted out. The wmutioy vecurred off Sciliy Islands. Three sea- men were seriously hurt by pistol shots. The captain’s body was found on board when the vessel reached Piymouth. The mate brought the bark in. An in vestigation was at once instituted by the proper officials and the ringleaders inthe mutiny placed iu irons. The other side of the story of mutiny is told by the imprisoned sailors as fol- iows : ‘Cap t. Armstrong got drunk last Monday and with a loaded revolver in
his hand chased the crew around the deck until they took refuge ix the rigging. The captain ordered them back to the deck, but being afraid ofhis pistol, they refused to obey und climbed further aloft. Capt.
Armstrong began shooting indiscrimi- nately atthe men inthe rigging and severely wounded three of them. Then the remainder of the crew, acting together and in self-defence, returnd to the deck, surrounded the captain, beat him senselessand put him in irons. He died soon ufter the fight. The three sailors whom he shot are in a dying con- aiuion. 2 - A Fight for a Widow.
Particulars of a desperate encounter between two rival suitors, are coming to light in Quebec. It seems that two youug men in well-to-do circumstances, one a foreigner and the other ao Lrish- map,became enamored with a blooming middle-aged widow who keeps a_res- taurant in the jower town. The fair dispenser of liquids seems to have di- vided her smiles about «qually between her two admirers, as they became des- perativ jealous of each other,the hatred between them iinally calminating a couple of days ago ina bloody fight. By agreement the two men yaccompanied by friends, metin a country locality near Levis and opened operations by firing at each other with pistols ai the regulation distance. This they found io0 slow auddrew knivesand hacked at each other in true wild west style until separated. The foreigner is in the hospital with a bullet hole through his hip and several knife thrusts in his body. His oppouent,
