The Cape Traverse Rovers will meet the Parlndals Bombers to- night in Crapaud Rink for the second game in the finals for the Crapaud-Victoria Board of Trade Trophy. The ice in Crepsud is in excellent shape and the gem: is expected to be very fast. The Cape Traverse team won the opener in a closely contested battle on Feb. 20 and tonight's game should be another thriller.

-The fifth annual ice sports were run off at the Alberton rink last night with 9. good attendance. The events were sponsored by the Alberton Women's Institute with proceeds in aid of the Boy Scouts. Prizes were generously donated by merchants of the town.

Following the events a. hockey game between the Scouts and the old Regals was greatly enjoyed by the large audience with the old timers, experts in their day, soon finding out that youth beats ex- perience in the fast game of hoc- key, barely managing to eke out a narrow 3-1 win over their fast skating opponents. scoring for the Scouts was D. Carpenter with Ed. Millman chlilking up the veterans markers.

-The summerside sociation completed their hockey program at Raceway Stadium last night. finalists in all four divisions. paperweight. pee-wee, bantam and midget playing the deciding games. Champions were declared in three of the four divisions, the pee-wee Atlantics and Islanders battling for so minutes of overtime play, when they were called off the ice with the score still knotted at 2-all. In the paperweight division the Black Hawks won the town title, beating the Canadiens by the score of 2-0. The Chiefs and Barons in the bantam division were also tied at the end of regulation play, but the Chiefs after having tied up the game with 10 seconds to go. scored the winning counter after 40 sec- onds of overtime and became Sum- merslde bantsm champs. The Mid- get Army defeated the Midget Air- firce team 2-1. This game was very rough, and referee Jimmie Hogan handed out eleven penalties.

Rozman Regains P.E.l. Chins Ch'ship

Mr. Duchane Rozman is the 1954 Chess Champion of Prince Ed- ward Island bv virtue of his six wins out of six games. Mr. Roz- man regained the championship which he held in 1951. He did not compete in 1952.

In making his way toward the championship Rozmsn was given some stiff opposition by Mr. Don MacDonald and by last year's champion Johnnie Macfnnis. In the latter game Rozman went a- head of Macfnnls by one pawn bilt maintained his lead in a long bitter fought battle.

A newcomer to the Chess Tour- nament this year was George Mac- Neill who made a creditable show- ing for himself with four wins and two loses. His younger brot- her. 14 year old Peter had three wins and three loses.

The tournament is actually in- complete in that some of the players have not completed their full schedule of games. However since each player other than the champion has lost at least one gsme the outcome in this respect will not be changed. The remain- ing games will be run off next Monday night. An incomplete

Prominent Merchant Iliesin Summerside

-There passed away late on Thursday evening, in the Prince County Hospital, a prominent. lwzrchant of the town in the per- son of Mr. Mark Gaudet. He was 83 years of age.

Mr. Gaurlet was born in Mis- couche and came to Summerslde as a young man. He worked with the firm of Sinclair and Stewart Ltd. for 18 years and in 1919. he opened a grocery business on Granville Street which he oper- ated until his death. In later years his sons were associated with him. This was probably the first ncighborhood grocery store to be established in Summerside and

proved to be very successful. i

Mr. Gaudet was an exemplary citizen and took part in many of the community activities. He was a member of the school board for about 20 years until he retired several years ago. He was also a
