The Football Panthers clashed with the S.M.U. Huskies at MacAdam Field on Saturday October 2nd. and went down to ignominius defeat at the hands of their visitors, “2-12.

IN the third quarter the Huskies advanced‘ steadily down the field from their own one-yard line to score yet another touchdown and convert,both by Kozak. The two teams held each other in check the rest of the time.

It was not until the last quarter that the Panthers got on the scoreboard again. Jim Paoline scored a touch- down from the Huskies 5 yard line. Mancuso's convert attempt was

A second nullified touchdown was attempted by Saint Mary's,but was not valed because of a flag on the play (the first one had been late in the first quarter,on a 110 yard run-back by Jones).

Jones came back to score-the final touch- down.and Kozak was good for -another convert.

The score remained #2- 12 against U.P.E.I. for the rest of the game.

The P.E.I. SEnior Vblleyball League held its second weekly night of oompetion, at the Pro- vincial Vocational :Institute on Thursday night,Oct.7th.

‘After the first night of competition held at C.F.B. S'side, U.P.E.I. was leading with ‘

a 5-1 win loss record, followed by the Senior"y" Ripoffs at 4 wins no losses.

However on the sec-* ond night U.P.E.I. lost four of the six games theuy layed They dropped two games go the Ripoffs:15—9.15-7: two games to the Pumas:15-5. 16-14; and they defeated .the Junior stars 194.15- 10,

Overall standings after two nights of competition shows that the Y.M.C.A. Ripoffs lead the league with a 10--O win loss rec- ordythe Pumas.C.F.B., 3' side and U.P.E.I. are tied for second at 7-53the Prince County Juniors are fifth at1-5 : and the Y.M. C.A. Juniors Stars are last with no wins and 12 loses.
