What’s Up — at the Panther Lounge?

Everything is back in action at The Panther Lounge after a long and refreshing break. This semester I am taking over Mike Taweel’s position as manager. If anyone has any comments or ideas they would like to pass along please feel free to contact me at 566- 0953.

Jen is back! Every oe from 8:00 pm till 10:00 pm she will be hosting trivia, so bring your quarters and try your luck at winning some tasty prizes. Also watch for our movie pub signs around campus which will update you on the weekly features. The movie pubs are held every Friday, starting at 2:00 pm, so be sure to drop by and check out the liquid specials.

Every Friday following the movie pub there are pool tournaments beginning at 6:00 pm. Our pool tourna- ments now feature prizes throughout the night, so be sure to drop in and check it out.

Thanks to all who attended the New Year’s Eve event. It was a great time and a huge success. Be sure to watch for our upcoming events for winter carnival week. :

Acoustics Society Meeting

The fourth meeting of the Island Acoustics Society will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 7:00-

9:30 at UPEI in the 4th Floor Lounge, at the Atlantic Veterinary _ College. The topic will be Perspectives on Ultrasound with an introduction to ultrasound and applications in veteri- nary medicine by Dr. Mauricio Solano of the Atlantic Veterinary College. Also a talk on ultrasound vocalization as a measure of maternal drug effects by Dr. Cathy Ryan, Department of Psy- chology, UPEI. Light refreshments will be served courtesy of Institute of Acoustics of Atlantic Canada. The meeting is held under the auspices of the Institute of Acoustics of Atlantic Canada, the Department of Psychology of UPEI, and the Office of Research Services, UPEI. Anyone with profes- sional or serious amateur interest in any aspect of acoustics is welcome.
