It may be noted that if

With overtricks counting for so much in that game South should go for the split, which would occur a- bout 68% of the time. However at rubber bridge the paramount considera— tion is to make the con— tract. Hence South should take his nine tricks and run. The safety play as used here ensured the con- tract over 95% of the time,

"Gonna Get By" may seem like a disappointment at first, but if you listen a few times you'll find it grows on you. .

"Earthshaker".shows the Black Sabbath side of Keith; it's a Slow driving song with a raunchy lead break‘ by Shack.

"All I Have" is a beau— tiful, slow song consisting of acoustic guitar, bass,' and vocals.

.The last cut on side one sounds strikingly like an excerpt from the album "Why Don'tcha" by West, Bruce, and Lang. Shack's guitar work is nothing astounding but it gets by.

"Drifting Dreamer" sounds like the former James Gang

combine voices to make beau- tiful hatmnnies. "Shoulda* seen your Face" is a modern rock and roll song, while "Heartbreak Hotel" gets into some good boogie. Shack's guitar work‘in the latter.

[leaves much to be desired.

"Coldwind" is a complete turn around from the rest of the album. It's a country rock tune, featuring Al Perkins with some fine steel guitar work.

If you like the JamesGang then you'll love Newborn. It is the finest album the James Gang has ever released. My advice to you is to run out and buy a copy, listen to it, and write home about it.
