THIS MONTH’S COVER

The Meadow Vole (Microtus pennsylvanicus) is often seen at this time of year running into holes in the snow or hiding under piles of wood. About 7 inches long, it has gray to dark brown geographical variants. It makes its home in grasslands and near bodies of water throug out Alaska and Canada and in the northern thir of the U.S.
