Already, the Island's National Park area. is free of ragweed and boasts an excellent air index reading of 0.4. Five new pollen collecting ata- tlons will be set up in the Province by the Federal Department of Ag- riculture. Weed Investigations sec- tion. to discover any areas where there may be traces of ragweed. These stations are being set up as it result of a request from the Pro- vincial Tourist and Information Bureau, which is heading up the program.

The adjudicators, Mr Clayton Hare of Alberta and 'ir. Reginald G. Geen of Ontario. listened to and commented on the perform once by the many talented music- ians and offered constructive crit- icism 'and encouragement.

Speaking at P.W.C. in the even- ing. Mr. Geen spoke of the fine spirit shown by the adult compe- tltors and of the excellent attend- ance by the parents during the sessions in which the children pe:- formed. lie stated it was quite un- usual tosee such a great interest taken by the adults and thought it might be this interest which had assisted in the rapid growth of the Provincial Festival.

0'1'rAwA, May 6-(CP)-Argu- ment in a case involving the con- stitutionalitiv of provincial mar- ketlng legislation is expected to open tomorrow before the supreme court of Canada.

Hearings had been due to start today, but a prior case kept the court busy.

The test case on marketing is an appeal from the Prince Ed- ward lslend Supreme Courtpwhlch. ruled that the Federal Agricul- tural Products Marketing Act of 1949 is outside the jurisdiction of parliament. If that ruling stands, it will knock out provincial en- actments based on the Federal statute.
