The funeral of the late Major Thomas B. Rogers. V.D., took place yesterday and was very largely attended. It was held from the McLean Funeral Home to St. James Presbyterian Church where the service was conducted by Rev. T. H. B. Somcrs who also officiat- ed at the grave.

A packed churcll listened as Rev. Mr. Somcrs spoke words of coni- fort lo the bereaved and favorite hymns were sung. Citizens lined the streets for blocks as the cor- tege passed on its wily to People's Cs.-nlcicry where the interment took place.

The Canadian Legion service at the graveside was conducted by Major A. H. Peake. CD.. and a slowly moving file of Lcgionnalres, Veterans and Officers of the Ser- vicesrdroppcd poppies on the eas- kcl. as they passed. A Firing Party under command of SGMS C. E. Ryan fired the traditional three volleys over the grave as B parting salute and the haunting notes of the Last Post and Reveille were sounded by Bugler Frank Smith. At the con- clusloil of the services another favorite pipe selection of Major Rogers was heard as Bfl'll(lIIla5iCI' Burke blew "The Road to Tllc Isles."

The pallbearers were Brig. W. W. Reid, D.S.O., E.D., Lleui. Col. W. J. MacDonald. E.D., Lieut. Col. J. D. Stewart, D.S.0., E.D., Major R. E. Howard, E.D.. Capt. C. R. Pal- mer, E.D.. Capt. James Coles, M.M., Maj. J. S. DESIROCIIES, E.D., Maj. H. M. Simpson, E.D. .

In the Bearer Party were War- rant Officers E. G. Lewis, J. F. Smith, E. H. Toombs, C. A. Orford, W. N. Farrar, J. T. Place, J. D. Mccaskill, M.M., and Giles Cant- wcll. The Insignia. Bearer was Maj. J. I. Nicholson, M.C. Mal. R. H. Mzihar commanded the funeral party and tile Rccce Band was under the direction of Baildmastcr T. M. MacFarlanc.
