In addition to your adults ii would be well to look over your pups for evidences of worms. You are not likely to be troubled with hook- worms this early because it has been quite a cool spring. You will prob- ably have to dose for hookworzn early in July. but we will mention that when the time comes.

One of the greatest troubles the rancher has to contend with just now is the feeding of his pups. There will be the greedy pups and shy pups and both will require watching. If not the greedy ones will get too much food and the shy ones not enough. ‘This is where the careful feeder and the observing one gets in his fine work. In a large ranch he can add hundreds, yes perhaps a. thousand dollars to the value of his pups by using his brains. If you have to separate pups and put two or three shy ones to- gether and two or three "hogs" to- gether you will have to make a notation of the individual charac- teristics of each, sex, unusual mark- ings, sire of tips, etc..‘ so that you will have their correct breeding when marking time comes.

We have been talking w several ranchers lately regarding feeding pups. one man said that he was feeding lighter this year than ever before and thatlhe had no casual- ties. Another said he was feedlm heavier than ever before and he had no casualties. The heavy feed- er is aiming at size. He says it is impossible to get size in a fox unless he is fed well the first three months. Sine is very inmortant at present as the big pelts bring the big mqxcv. factors being equal. While we would not care to venture an opinion on the matter we would say that. a medium course would not be too bedywe think.

There are two types of pew-the smooth and the wrinkled. Garden- ers might well grow birth of them. because the flrst' is the hardiest and may be sown early, whllathe wrinkled is the sweetest.
