The child was tak- en to the Charlottetown Hospital but it is not thought that she was suffering serious injury.

Miss Eleanor Lowe reported another set of backdrops com- pleted for the centennial com- mittee.

Mrs. D. M. Gass gave an in- teresting and comprehensive report of the Maritime Art Association convention held recently at Saint John.

It was decided by the member. to hold another exhibition in Aug- ust, Deadline for entries will be five days in advance of the dates advertised for the opening. The same rules and regulations will be in force with the exception that entries are limited to two paintings instead of the former three. Ceramics and wood carv- ings will also be included.

A presentation of two hand painted trays was made to Mrs. Davies in recognition of her in- terest. industry, determination and success in putting the Soc- iety on its feet.

The presentation was made by Mrs. George DeBlois. compan- ied by an original witty and to the point verse read by Mrs. J. A. Fraser.

Mrs. Davies .esponded in her usual gracious and sincere man- ner.

Last but not least was an ex- cellent exhibition of paintings by Mrs. Du Vernet. winner of a tro- phy in 1953.

A vote of thanks was tender- ed Mrs. Davies for a delightful afternoon and evening at her summer home in Kcppoch.

Al the June meeting of the Char-I lottetown Business and Profession- al Women's Club held at the Queen Hotel on Monday night the club president, Miss Dorothy Cul- len, called on Mrs. Helen Dunbar for her report as chairman of the hard working centennial commit- tee planning the Maritime get-to- gether of B. at P. clubs. Accord- ing to this report. the schedule for this centennial week-end July lst.- 3rd. which is being sponsored by the Charlottetown club. is well In hand and there is every indication that this venture will be a great success judging by the L registrations that have already been received from clubs in Nova Scolia. New Brunswick, Quebec and Ontario. as well as by the en- thusiasm displayed by the mem- bers from the Charlottetown and Summerside clubs.
