Members from all parts of the Prqvince of the Prince Edward Island Life Underwriters held their November meeting in Sum- merslde yesterday afternoon at the I-Iillcrest Lodge. with the president. Mr. Stewart Ives. presiding.

In his introductory remarks Mr. Ives welcomed the members and thanked them for their attendance even though the traveling condit- ions and the weather were not all that could be hoped for. President Ives said that the next meeting would be the annual meeting and outlined a number of matters which would be taken up at that time for consideration.

The annual meeting this year will be held on December 12th. at the Queen Hotel in Charlottetown.

During the business session mat- ters of particular interest to the members were given consideration. it was agreed. on motion. that all members will strictly observe the rules of the highway as laid down by the Safety Council in order to do their part in the pro- motion of the effort to have safe driving.

In accepting this donation for the hospital Mr. Scales expressed the appreciation of the hospital board of trustees, and commended the Summerside Rotary Club for their efforts on behalf of the hospital.

He said that the hospital records show that the Summerslde Rotary Club had given more than 316.000. to this hospital within the past 12 years.

Guest speaker at the luncheon was Archie Johnstone of Long River. who spent several months in Great Britain recently on I Nuffield agricultural scholarship. Mr. Johnstone gave an interesting talk illustrated by colored slides dealing with his work and travel.
