Diep From His Iysvates.—A_ private letter conveys the ead intelligeace that Mr Benj Perry, a conductor on the Great Northern Railway, died at Montana from injuries eustained during a recent accident on thatroad. Mr Perry was at one time employed as conductor on the Iviand rail- way, and his many friends here will leara of his death with regret.

There are at present no less than four per-~ sons who have reached the century perk The Halifax Herald reports that Middle River at present claims the honor of having the oldest landmark in the person of Angus Campbell, who was boro in 1775.

Boom 1x Suiprixc.— Summerside is now enjoying a boom in shipping. Two large square rigged vessels are now loading oats for the European markets, one for the West Indies and several smaller ones for provincial markets, besides daily ship- ments of oysters, sheep,etc., ex. Northum- berland. The western traia brought in to Summerside on Friday probably the heav~ jest train ever hauled over the road. There were 21 cars, 19 of which were loaded.

Service For THE Deap.—The bodies of Bishop Macdonald, Father Broderick, Father McDone!l andthe other clergymen interred under the old cathedral, which were taken to the cemetery when the old struction was removed, will be brought back on the 17th inst, and placed in the vault under the new cathedral. A Pontifical High Mass will be ‘celebrated on the occasixn, andan appropriate sermon will be delivered by Rev. Father Quinan, of Antigonish.
