The closing days of the Old Year claimed the lives of two veteran Prince Edward Islanders. Edward Clohossey of Skinner's Pond and Donald MncKlnnon, of North River. '

Mr. Olohossey was born at Skinner's Pond 93 years ago, the son of Irish emigrants, Patrick Clohossey and Johanna Foley of Kildarc. Ireland.

In 1882. Edward Clohossey rnlr- riod Ellen Doyle. They had five children, namely: Ellen. who dieri in infancy, Joseph, now living nt. Oxford Me, nlld superintendent of the Oxford Paper Co. at Rumforti. Me; James. a veteran of the first war and now employed with the Vancouver Water Commission. There is Anna of Lowell. Mass. and the younger daughter. Stella, Sis- ter Mary Edward of Fall River, Mass.

When Mr. MacKlnnon moved to his fann at North River. he mar- ried the sweetheart of his youth Miss Maud Williams. The two daughters born of this union, Pearl and Stella, together with his widow, are left to mourn the loss of a loving husband and father.

A fire which broke out shortly after nine o'clock last night badly gutted the office and warehouse of the Canadian Oil Company on Harvard Street. Suinmcrside and destroyed most of the contents.

Origin of the fire is uniknown hut when discovered it was break- ing through the roof at the office end of the buildinf-I- which has s wooden frame and roof and cor- rugated steel walls. Burning oil made it a difficult blaze to fight with water but after about an hour firemen had it pretty well out. .
