With a quiet click of the mouse, the Univer- sity of Prince Edward Island-Student Union Inc. entered cyberspace on the 30th November, 1996. Anyone surfing the World Wide Web can now find information regarding the UPEI-SU, Upcoming Event, Interesting Sites and Clubs & Societies found at UPEI.

The UPEI-SU’s web pages can be accessed from computer stations located around campus offering students access to the web on UPEI’s web server. These location are: Robertson Library-the computer room next to MAPUS, and the four computers inside the library, also in Computer Services found in the AVC- in data room ‘B’ where the student help desk is located. clubs, the SU and other groups On campus can be advertised on the web. Much of the paper waste and eye sore that is con- stantly found on bulletin boards will be greatly reduced. This will benefit the environment, provide for a cleaner campus and aid in keeping repair costs to walls and posts on campus down.

Students that have seen or heard about the new Student Union web pages have been very receptive to the idea. Many feel that they will benefit from knowing what is going on around campus, One student expressed concern about the hype that has been made about the web, and doubts that this new effort by the Student Union will be any better for students.
