A Great Moral Wave.

Referring to the success of the Scott re- peal movement in Ontario, the Ottawa Cit- izen says: The champions of temperance and total abstinence need not despair; many of them have done great and good work; some of them, by an extreme policy, have done harm tothe cause. Still the stars in their course are on the side of mod eration, and, as compared with ten years ago, & great moral wave has passed over every province inthe Dominion; good ex- ample has done much to reduce the vol- ume of ardent spirit consumption, common sense has taught men who desire to succeed, that success is not to be achieved by put- ting an enemy into one’s mouth, to steal his brains away. Where repeal has suc- ceeded, where licenses may hereafter be issued, let all honest candid temperance men seek by moral influences to encourage the people to abstain from the use of ar- dent spirits; if not total abstinence, then

His dar was from imported Messen- ger, hus Abdallah Messenger is a combination of the Clay Messenger and Morgan blood. He is standard-bred, and registered in the American Trotting Kegistry, volume 6, page 1lj, and his number is 4869. He is the sire of Bijou, 2.24, and severel others. Abdallah Messenger is bred from good lines, and you have a right to be proud of the fact that he got a good many trotters out of so cold-blooded mares. Every horse cannot
