Attorney General. ho remarked upon the inconvenient souson at which the lute l’ar— liamcut was dissolved. and said that any explanatory remarks irom hon. members ill the opposition. cspc~ cially from those who were members at lilo late Go- vornmont. which they might choose to make. he would be glad to hear so to the cause of the late pe- riod at which the General Election took place. It had been rumored that the delay was caused by a desire to ascertain what course to adopt relative to the subject of Confederation then before the Confor— once held in England. It was not his desire to cast reflections on tho lsts Government touching that point, but ho contended that an explanation was de- birable.
