THE QUICKEST PASSAGE ON RECORD.

As will be seen by tho following paragraph taken from the Cork [Ireland] Herald. of the ‘5th inst.. that Capt. Jeremiah Crowley. with the Brigantine C. H. Trumbull. owned by John A. McDonald Earp. has made the passage from unipoqu [not Charlotte- town. as stated by the Herald] in the unprecedented time of thirteen days and a hall! Capt. Crowley is as Islander. a native of I‘riacstewu. and is a live man. and a very good specimen of our seafaring men. Long may he continue to soak quick and pros- perous voyages.

stcn Puritan—At a time when public interest is absorbed in the great ocean yacht race. which has boon decided recently. and when the speed of these crafts are the theme of newspaper writers. it may not be uninteresting to notice the achievement of a small vessel of fsrless retousions than tho Henri- etta or sister yachts. n Saturday last. a bri n- tine called the C. II. Trumbull. 178. Capt. Crow oy, arrived from Charlottetown. Prince Edward Island, with a cargo of oats. She left on the evening of the 10th instant. and allowing for difference of time. made the passage to this port in thirteen-aud-s-hslf days. The C. II. Trumbull or rioaced some rough weather. but, generally spas ing, tho wind was favorable.

Capt. Crowley. in a letter dated Quoonstown. Jan. 4th, 1867.. to tho editor of the Progress says:—

“The Brig Talba. Capt. Cam bell. was towed from here to-day for Liverpool. he was dismant- ad on the Grand Bank and came here with tho juryunasts that is. made two-thirds of the passage] in twenty-s r days from Charlottetown. Greet credit is due to tho master for bringing her into port; but. you know he is one of our Inland boys, and will not give up easily.” .

Capt. Crowley says he was ordered to London. and would sell on the next day. Oats dull. and selling at 3s. 2d. sterling.—Frerghts for large vessels dull. but small vessels in domand.—S. Pragr.

We understand from the Commissioner of Crown Lands. that he has received, within the past few months. upwards of£14,000 from the 'I‘enaatry of this Island. in part payment of their lands. under the Land Purchase and Fifteen Years Act Bills. This lam will swell out the Revenue for the past year. we are informed. to nearly £90,000. The ordinary Revenue will be in excess of the previous year some seven or eight thousand pounds.

Antenna CLUI.—This Club advertises to give performances at St. Andrew's Hall on this and to-merrow evenings. The young men who compose the Club gave great satisfaction to their audiences on former occasions, and we have no doubt they have improved themselves since the last time they appeared upon the boards.
