We want to give a very cm- phatlc "second the motion" to I letter women to The Guardian recently which deplored the giv- ing of prizes for "perfect attend- ance" in the public schools. We've always thought it was wrong but

to our unspoken thoughts. We had a painful cxpeclence as a result of the custom some years
