Thomas Smith, Carpenter’s Mate, a native of Wolverhampton, Stafford, England, height 5 feet 7 inches, hair brown, eyes blue.

Sheriffs, Justices of the Peace and Constables throughout the Island, are required to give their prompt aid and assistance for the apprehension of the above described Deserter, and his safe convey-

HIS Excellency the Lieutenant Governor in Council was this day pleased to fix and determine the rate at which' the amount of the Invoice of Dutiable Goods, imported into this Island from the United States of America, shall, in estimating the duties payable thereon, be reduced into current money of the Island, as follows:—

In all cases where such Invoices shall be made out in Dollars and Cents of the paper currency of the United States, the amount of such Invoice shall be reduced into current money of this Island, by allowing for each Dollar the sum of FOUR SHILLINGS AND SIX-FENCE, and in the like proportion for any fraction of a Dol- lar; of which all Collectors of Impost are to take notice and govern

themselves accordingly.
