WILLIAM LOWELL PUTNAM MATHEMATICAL COMPETITION

A competitive examination in collegiate mathematics to be given Saturday, December 5, I977, to teams of three or to individual contestants from colleges and universities in the U.S. and Canada. The prizes to be awarded to the depart- ments of mathematics of the institutions with the winning teams are $500, SAOO, $300, $200 and $l00. Also-prizes of $l00-$50 to each of the members. In addition, the five highest individuals receive an addition prize of $250 each. DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION’ October 30, I977.
