The Springhill mines were im- portant users of power from Ca- nada Electric of nearby Amherst and the electric company in turn got most 0f its coal from JogginS. With Springhill not using as much power, the electric company’s production will be cut and it won’t need as much coal from Joggins.
The Cumberland Railway and Coal Company mines in Spring- hill, 12 miles from here, were closed following the Oct. 23 mine
