if Thursday night is any indication of what is in store for the weekend, it should be quite a wild time. Ryan's Fancy got it off to a beautiful begin— ning in the good old Pig & Wistle tradition. The walls Of the gym were plastered with posters of how to say "cheers" in five different languages and Ryan's Fancy came on like commercials with "Drink uph_the more

you drink the more you'll ' like the music". And of course, the Irish in the student body began to come out-

I remember asking about Winter Carnival last year and always getting the re- sponse, "It's great." On probing deeper into the subject of what went on during Winter Carnival, I would always hear, "Every— body gets drunk." .

This year instead of re— stricting such a weekend of festivities to once during the winter, we are also having one in the fdl.'If' Fall Festival turns out anything like Winter Car- nival, you should have more students participating in the excapade then you would for ahy other event that. w goes On at the University. This has been proved this year with plays: lectures etc., having almost no attendence what so ever.

If this is the case, the University should attempt to get a liquor licence for every weekend of the year. We could have a festr ival or carnival for the first day of fall and one fer the first day of spring We could have one on weekw, ends that have full moons. We could have one for Hal- loween and another for Trudeads birthday. If the student body really put

If this is what the stu— dent body of the Univer— sity wants, all should be done to accomodate their wishes.
