The Sullivan Government on the aflairs of this Province without taxes for the past four years.. They tell us are able to do so again. Let us elect them. They have fulfilled their promises. Let us be true to them and we will be true to ourselves and true to our country.

The New Canadian Cardinal.

June 9,

There was unusual rejoicing in Quebec when it became known that Mer. Tas- cherau had received official notification of his elevation to the Cardinalate Con- gratulatory messages and telegrams poured in upon His Eminence, and the Papal and Canadian flags were hoisted at the Palace. The signal was at once understood@by the citizens, and soon flags were flying from Layal University and most of the public buildings, besides a number of private residences. The time for the general rejoicing by the citizens of Quebec has been fixed for the installation ceremonies, which will occur upon the arrival of the Papal dele; gate, M: gor. O’Brien, who is expected about the end of June, and will bring with him the Cardinal’s barretta.
