Mr. H. Haszard, from the special com- mittee appointed at last meetivg, reported that a memorial regarding excessive freight rates between this Province and points on the mainland had been for- warded, through the President of the Maritime Board of Trede, to the Minister of Railways.

Mr. Haszard also reported that he had received atelegram from Mr, Campbell, manager of the Beaver line of steamers, to say that he would arrive bere on Friday evening. On motion, it was resolved that a meeting of the Board be held on Satur- day furenoon, at 10 o’clock, for the pur- pose of conferring with Mr. Campbell, and that a committee be appointed to col- lect statistics concerning probable imports and exports from Great Britain available for shipment direct from this port, the committee to consist of H. Ha-zard, N. Rattenbury, W.H. Aitken, W. W. Beer and Lb. Rogers, M. L. A. :
