OTTAWA (CP)—Gen. Charles | Foulkes, chairman of the chiefs of staff committee from 1951 to 1960, says the serviceman is be- ing ignored in the frenzy to complete ,atmed forces integra- tion.

The. serviceman has been | treated “‘as just another ci- | pher,” he says_in a series of three articles in the Ottawa | ‘Journal which concluded Thurs- day.

“His feelings, loyalties and desires have not been consid- ered of sufficient importance to | warrant consideration:

“The politician¢ must remem- | ber that the Canadian service- man_is_a volunteer, not a con- script who can be pushed @round, nor a mercenary who ean be bought at.a price.”
