Each day a sample of the water is taken to the Laboratory Division of the Department of Health for bacteria analysis. This year the bacteria count has been zero on all occasions. Mrs. Cudmore poin- ted out that even if heavily con laminated water was pumped into the pool. the chlorination prog- ramme now in effect would read- ily kill all bacteria. She also said that the water in the harbour off Brighton Road seldom has I bac- terial count of zero when pumped into the pool. Following chlorina- tion no bacteria are found. thus indicating the effectiveness of the programme.
