Carnival Returns

SUMMERSIDE BUREAU OF THE GUARDIAN

A big success despite a small net profit was the view of the 1959 Summerside Lobster Car- nival expressed by the central committee at their fimal meet- ing last night which concluded with an enthusiastic determinat- ion to continue the carnival again mext year, and make it bigger end better than ever.

Reviewing the and fin- ancial experiences learned of the 1959 carnival, the committee heard a numbér of recommenda- tions for next year from carnival treasurer Dick Henthorn, who reported, from a revenue of ebout $19,000, a net surplus of ai ximately $1,900 of which $1,500 will be divided among the six participating service clubs.

In commending carnival direc-

ing efforts for the promotion and eugeess of the lobster Carnival, Mr. Henthorn recommended that

more direct assistance from the service clubs through the appoint- ment of a second representative from each club.
