FEXHIS BANK is formed to supply an

addition to the money circultaion of this Is- land, the waet of which has for some time been sensibly felt. It is the natural conseqnence of an increasing population, an expanding Commerce, and of the enlarged production of an industrious and energetic people. Ineredible as it may seem, until the year 1555, there never was a bank established in this Island; in that year, under the pressnre of a similar uecessity, the Bank of Prince Edward Island was called into existence; and while it has facilitated the trede and commercial business gene- rally, it bas largely contributed to the develope- ment of the resources of the Country, and ite results are supposed to have been satisfactory to the Share- holders, having for some years past paid them an annual dividend of ten per cent.

The increase in the population since the year 1855, the large addition % our trade and ecommerce, the increasing Kevenue, the breadth of arable land cleared and cultivated, the growing increase of farming stock, the augmented export of grain and agricultural produce of all kinds, have rendered further Banking operations in this Island absolutely necessary.

It uppears from the census of 1860, and from other authentic sources, that in the preceding five years the increase in the population of this Island wae 9.361 persons; increase of breadth of land under cultivation 45,000 acres ; increase iu the quantity of roots and cereals exported 842,000 bush. That in the year 1861, the Iaports amounted to £314,002,

Nothing has the power of. reducing inflammation and subduing pain in these complaints in the same deyree as Holloway’s cooling Ointment and purity ing Pills. Lruptions, Seald Head, Ringworm, and other Skin Diseases.

After fomentation with warm water, the utmost relief and speediest cure cun be readily obtained in | all complaints affecting the skin aud joints, by the simultaneceus use of the Ointment aud Pills. But it must be remembered that nearly all skin diseases indicate the depravity of the blood and deranuwement of the liver and stomach, consequently, in man) cases, time is required to purify the blood, which will be effected by a judicious use of the Pills. The veneral health will readily be improved, although the eruption may be driven out more freely than before, and which should be promoted ; persever ance is necessary.

Sore Throats, Diptheria, Quinsey, Mumps, and all other Derange- ments of the Throat.

On the appearance of any of these maladies the Ointment shhald be well rubbed at least three times a day upon the neck aud npper part of the chest, so us to penetrate to the ghinds, as salt is forced into meat; this course will at ouce remove inflammation and ulceration.
