Late Emperor Franz Joseph 0f Austria Passes Away After Two - Month’s Illness.

MUNICH, Germany, July 27.- (APJ-Princes Leopold of Bavar- ia, the eldest daughter of the late Emperor Franz Joseph of Australia and Empress Elizabeth, died here today after an apoplectio stroke on May 24th. She was 75 years old. Princess Leopold was formerly Archduchess Gisela of Australia. Her married life with Field Mar- shal Prince Leopold of Bavaria, uncle of the present Crown Prince Ruppfcht, who died two years ago at the age of B5, was extremely happy. The couple celebrated their golden wedding in 1923. Two sons and two daughters were the issue of the union.

Princess Lieopold was s. “Grand Dame" of the old school; much respected for her charitable dis- position. The slim figure she re- tained in old age was the marvel of all beholders, and to the last she was keenly interestod in the session of the Bavarian geological society. She resided at her late husband's Munich Palace, where her children, grand-children and great-grand- children were her constant visitors.
