A government spokesman de- clined to comment on the na- ture of the proposals but made clear there was no plan for set- ting up any additional French- West German agency. He said the proposals would be sub- mitted to France under terms of the French - West German treaty of friendship.

New Fisheries Vessel Ordered

OTTAWA (OP) — A isosioot ﬁsheries re a e a r c h vessel equipped with the latest navi- gation and electronic gear is being ordered by the Fisheries Research Board for its Atlantic fleet, it was announced here.

Tenders have been called for the vessel, which is scheduled to go into service in the spring of 1966. It will have a range at 3,000 miles at a cruising speed of 11 knots and will be equipped for stem trawling and scallop dragging.

The vessel will have a com- plement of 21 scientific officials and crew.
