Now our job is to keep order and enforce the rules at all student events. We're not out to get, people at all, but we sure don't like the trouble— makers. Not only do we dislike these people but

you shouldn't either! 'Know

why? Because they can ruin your fLm and your property. 'Ihis university belongs to 'us students - all of us, not just a handful of students. So why should we let'a few bad apples ruin everything we've paid for. In order to keep these bad apples from spoiling the whole barrelful we have a few rules that everyone must - abide by. We won't inter- fere with your fun as long as you follow our» rules. These rules are not mfair. In fact, they are for your own good and protection. 50 read carefully.

I.D.‘s

Every mixersity student -

has (or should have by now) a student identification Card. If you don't, then 90 to Main Building to Student Services (11 Wed- nesiay morningg and get/ Your picture taken. Do it-

Now that everyme has an ID card guess what we want you to do with them? We want you to show your ID card at eve Thursday ' night Pig. and every beer bash and every other student event that takes place at UPEI this school year of 79-80. ID's are a MUST -

otherwise you dm't get in!!!‘

Would you want the Barn to lose its license? If not, them make sure you have your ID in case the Liquor Control Commission pays us a friendly visit and asks for it. If some student doesn't have his ID we could get in trouble! Because of one student or a few, eve one could lose their privileges! Let'sno not let that happen....it's up to you. '(P.S. We will not accept any more fee slips from the Business Office verifying that you are a student here; get your I.D. card.

Now - for those people who are non-students at UPEI. You too must show an I.D. like the rest of us. It must be‘a picture I.D. (i.e. license) or 3 forms of non-picture I.DT When we ask for it, you'd better have it or else you won't t in! We need proof from everyone that you are of the legal drinking age.

Non-students must also be SIGNED IN at the door for Pigs, beer bashes and special dances (i.e. Oo—ed) The signing-in process is as follows:

Non-UPEI students - (this includes Holland College

students and nurses) have to be signedsin by a

. UPEI student of the. OPPOSITE

sex, i.‘.'e.UPEI male signs in a non-UPEI female and vice versa. _ Again I.D. 's are a must for both persons involved.

Students visiting UPEI from other universities do not need to be signed in by anyone but they MUST have their respective university I.D. card and they must sign our sheet telling" their name, their; university and their student I.D. number.

That takes care of the I.D.‘s. Now for the offenses we can charge people with. Listed below are the offenses dream up in the Campus Police Policy. We will enforce these at ev_efl student event! If you are wise, you'll go to these events and enjoy yourself and not make trouble, because it doesn't -

pay off!

Campus Police Policy Offenses

a) Striking Campus Policeman in the performance of his/her duties;

b) Drunk and Disorderly;

c) Illegal Use of alcohol or . other drugs;

d) Property Damage;

e) Disorderly Conduct;

f) Assault;

g) Theft;

h) Tampering with fire equipment;

i) Throwing objects off third floor of the Barn.

Penalties range from a mini-. mum fine of $20 to suspension of Student Union privileges for a long period of time. From this article I hope every student will benefit

By following our rules, everyone can enjoy them- selves. This is your university — your life — your decision. Do you or do you not want to enjoy your university activities?
