The Queen “Pleased to be in Ireland Again.”
The Queen was received by the lord lieutenant and the Duke of Con- naught when she landed at Kingstown and also by the high sheriff and the lieutenant of the country of Dublin. The address from the corporation of Kingstown was presented, and the Royal procession in four landaus start-
ed for Dublin under escort of the! King’s Dragoon Guards. The road- way was lined with spectators for
| cig ht miles, and there was continuous | cheering made with every evidence of sincerity and enthusiasm.

Precedents from Cromwell's time were followed, and premission for the royal entry were | passed and granted with stately grace. The pursuivant-of-arms, in crimson costume heavi'y emblazoned in gold demandei the opening of the gates in the Queven’sSname. The Ulster king- at-arms, in similar gorgeous array, as- sisted in those mock negotiations. The lord mayor assented with gracious courtesy, and the gates were opened by half a dozen fantastically dressed servitors who emerged from the re- cesses of the castle, The gates were
again closed until the second trumpet call announced the coming of the
